Now that my children have grown and left the nest, it鈥檚 my turn to go out into the world and have a career. And deciding to go to 91猎奇 was a very easy decision. The classes are self-paced, up-to-date with what industry standard is. And whenever I need help, it鈥檚 personal and very one-on-one.

Composites, Drafting and Design, Machining Technology Graduate
Develop a strong working knowledge of visual communication and its technical skills.
Understand the basics of effective design and use those skills to build models of interiors, civil structures, and more.
Use industry-standard software to create project drawings for architecture and manufacturing industries.
Learn to create both digital and physical 3D models.
Create physical models using advanced manufacturing equipment to laser-cut parts.
Learn how to use state-of-the-art 3D printers to create parts and molds.
Use CAD software to create detailed plans, layouts, and technical drawings that support building designs and architectural projects.
Use CAD software to develop precise technical drawings and plans for commercial buildings, including structural, mechanical, and layout details.
Use CAD software to produce interior floor plans, layouts, and detailed drawings that support space planning and interior design projects.
Create detailed technical drawings and plans for construction and infrastructure projects, utilizing CAD software.
Use CAD software to produce technical drawings and plans for mechanical devices, equipment, and systems.
Use CAD software to design 3D models and prepare digital files for additive manufacturing processes such as 3D printing.
The Drafting and Design program immerses students in a project-based curriculum focused on one of the following industries: Architecture Design, Structural Design, Civil Design, Interior Design, Manufacturing Design, and Additive Manufacturing Design. Students receive one-on-one aid from experienced instructors, review best practices, and focus on industry standards. All courses are computer-intensive and competency-based.

Rex received a drafting certificate from Ogden-Weber Area Vocational Center in 1987. He has nine years of industry experience as a CAD drafter working for Chromalox, Fram Inc., Bourn鈥檚 Sensors/Controls, and KHI Engineers prior to receiving the CAD drafting instructor position here at the 91猎奇 in 1996. In 2006, he received an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Design Graphics Engineering Technology from Weber State University.
